More Compliments Indicated

In the morning my mini-doodle Brownie and I release the three kittens from their nighttime party quarters. Misty, Lucky, and Tiger scurry out of their room to the sound of my voice singing, “Good kittens! Pretty kittens! Nice kittens!”

They gather around me and I sit on the floor, patting them as they vie with each other and Brownie for position in the petting zone of my lap. “Good girls! Nice girls!” I sing while I pat them. It’s a friendly taking turns type situation, but all the animals are hungry for affection.

Brownie’s tail and entire body wiggle with joy. All three kittens purr purr purr. This ritual seemingly could go on for as long as I’d be willing to do it. They never get bored.

Eventually it’s sofa coffee write time for me. Sometimes the kittens follow me to the sofa for more. They butt their heads against my notepad and coffee cup looking for more strokes and singsong compliments. Sometimes the kittens are satiated and only Brownie joins me for write time on the sofa. She curls up against me while I start the next part of my day.

Today it occurred to me that it would be a good idea to give more compliments to myself in the morning, or any time really, and also to other people who cross my path. I’m gonna keep going.
