Something

Smile. Inhale. Exhale. Let your face relax. Inhale. Exhale. Let your shoulders drop. Inhale. Exhale. Deeply. Let your belly be loose. Let your shoulders drop. Inhale. Exhale. Let your hips get heavy, way heavy. Let your butt sink. Let your ears sink. Let your jaw open. Your eyelids get heavy till reading through slits. Breathe. Consider your position. What hurts? What feels like it could feel better? Consider doing what you can to feel better right now. Change position, grab and extra pillow, shift, or do nothing at all. Stay just a bit longer here. Breathing deeply. Inhale. Exhale. Belly relaxed. Shoulders heavy. Face heavy. Toes heavy. Inhale. Exhale.

And …. Come back.

So. Good morning. I learned that from a lot of folks, yoga folks and meditation folks mostly, and when I do that kind of thing, really let myself do it, and let myself feel good doing it, it helps.

Someone told me the Dalai Lama meditates like four hours or more a day and that’s awesome for him, and I’m sure it would be awesome for me. I was taught twenty minutes twice a day is the proper dose. I do like three minutes a day and it’s changed my life completely. So it doesn’t take that much. But something.
