Choose Wisely

If I want to go dance in the ocean with friends but I need to do pick-up and drop-off and pick-up again of my child, then I have a lot of choices about A) what to do and B) how to feel about what I’m doing.  There are facts, my stories about the facts (fictions), and my feelings about the stories I tell myself about the facts.  For example, “I’m so lucky to have a child, a car, and stuff my kid gets to do that I get to help him do,” is one story, which leads to certain feelings.  Or, “Sheesh why don’t we live in a village where all his friends and activities are walkable?” Is another story, associated with other feelings.  Which story I choose is up to me, and I get to get help from my friends.  I’m gonna keep going.
