Plastic Purge

I’m committed to maintaining a 100% politics-free blog for a number of reasons and today I will continue to live up to that commitment. That said, some days, like today, it’s not easy to live up to that commitment because what is going on in the world is so big and what’s going on with me, snack, hair, outdoor sectionals, seems so small in comparison. And I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about what’s going on in the world, and what my part is in it, and what I can do to be of service, and putting my values in play in that arena, and how my personal choices perpetuate stuff I do or don’t support. So here is a list of some lifestyle choices I am making, or rather re-committing to, even though they might be a little inconvenient:

  1. Keep the Prius, and try to minimize driving
  2. Stop buying water in plastic bottles. Just stop. Drink filtered tap water in a reusable bottle.
  3. Sign up for that CSA delivery of veggies for goodness’ sake (CSA – Community Sponsored Agriculture)
  4. Resale store is the new toy store (I’d like to say no more plastic but it’s not gonna happen for us, but at least I can say no new plastic, or much less new plastic).

To be continued …..
